Vegas Getaway

Last week Travis and I left the kiddos with my very kind mother, and took off to Vegas! We just needed a little getaway from regular life with two kids, and man am I glad we did. We had a blast! We stayed at the Tahiti Village Resort, which turned out to be perfect for us.

We are in love with Lazy Rivers (pic from the Internet)

This place made us feel like we were further away than we really were.

I'd almost forgotten how funny Travis can be when we're not busy doing other things. We laughed and laughed together, and I even think he enjoyed shopping with me. Travis hates to shop, so that's definitely saying something. We had quite the adventure at some of the outlets and malls! Here he is trying to come up with a million different ways in which the little nylon sock they give you to try on shoes can be used.

Travis completely surprised me with tickets to "Blue Man Group"! I had absolutely no idea, so the show was extra exciting for me. I've wanted to see them for a while and they did not disappoint.

Can you say possessed?! Yeah, I lost all three of the dollars that we had with us.

We had fun seeing all the sights. From the Gondola rides at the Venetian, to the Bellagio Fountain show, we spent so much time walking around that it really seems like we saw it all, even though I know we didn't even come close. Vegas is about as opposite as it can get from our little town of Richfield where everything closes by 6PM.

We spent quite a bit of time relaxing and swimming at the hotel. While I missed my girls for sure, it was fantastic not having to worry about feedings, diapers, and constantly entertaining someone. We definitely enjoyed our down time!

We ate lots of ice cream, and by "we" I really mean "I". There's nothing better than soft serve ice cream and Vegas seems to have it on every corner. I wasn't complaining. We also got in a late night movie just because we could. I love staying up late and going on multiple dates with my husband. We really did laugh all night long.

We also were fascinated by the Mentalist. I love mind tricks like the ones this guy was so brilliant at performing. It was amazing.

I can't wait until our next getaway.

In Other News:

Brielle has been having loads of fun playing with friends lately.

Every time they decided to have a race, Brielle cheated and would start early before we shouted "Go". I literally had to hold her back for any type of honest race. She thought that was pretty thrilling!

Isn't she such a cute sleeper?!

Taylee is just plain precious!

I love her little faces and squeals. She is happy almost all of the time, and I am so grateful for that.

Brielle fell asleep in her high chair. Poor thing couldn't even finish her lunch!

I am seriously so lucky to be the mommy of these two little girls. My husband's not too bad either! Brielle walks around copying EVERYTHING we say. And she's starting to have an opinion that differs from ours. Last night I asked her if she wanted to go to bed to which she normally excitedly says "Yes!" and runs to her room (she loves bed time), but this time she said, "No, I wanna sit down to read". Word for word. I know she likes to read, but I'm not sure where she got "sit down to read". It made me feel old for some reason. This morning when I was showering, Brielle pulled back the shower curtain and when the water sprayed her she said, "Mommy, it's raining!" I get such a kick out of listening to her say new things. She loves to wear my high heels around the house and every bag she finds she calls her purse. She's always asking if we can sing "Kinko Star" (Twinkle Star), and "Knees and Toes". Her new favorite game is Hide and Seek, which she's constantly wanting to play. It'll be nice when Taylee is old enough to fill in for me from time to time so I can have a little break from hiding and seeking! Brielle is still so dang shy around other people, but is non stop crazy around here.

Taylee is starting to reach for things which is always fun to see. She especially loves to reach out to touch Trav's rough prickles on his face. We've also discovered that she is pretty ticklish! She starts to giggle and her little legs start flailing like mad. Also, whenever Travis is holding her, but I'm in the room, all Taylee wants to do is look for her mom. It doesn't matter how much Travis talks to her or tickles her, she refuses to look at him, because she's too busy looking at me or for me. He can do NOTHING to get her to look at him. It's so funny! And I think it's a little sweet too. Travis does not!

It's so much fun being a mom.

Monrovian Park

We didn't have any major plans over the weekend, so we decided to take a picnic up Monrovian Park. I love days like this!

We had fun hiking, eating, and playing in the water.

Breezy sat just like this for SO long just chatting and splashing over and over.

Oh yeah, and throwing rocks too.

Travis took Bree on a little hike while I finished feeding Taylee and they came back bearing gifts! Brielle loves flowers and held onto them the whole time.

She wanted Taylee to smell them. What a sweetheart!

The End.

Last Minute Trip to 801

(Brielle playing on the toys at Jordan Landing)

I ended up having an extra day off work this week so I took the girls on a last minute trip to West Jordan to visit my family.  It was quick, but we had a lot of fun.

The Living Aquarium:

My mom thought it would be fun to go see the new Living Aquarium and I'm so glad she thought of it because we had a great time.  My dad was even able to take the afternoon off so he could come with us.  We were all thrilled!   My dad is the best!Brielle sure loves her Grandparents!

The penguins were probably our favorite part.  They were so fun to watch. (Sorry the images are crappy, I'm certainly no photographer!)

Trying to touch the sting-rays:

Brielle thought the Octopus was so cool!  Can you tell?  Ok Ok, she was just super tired by this point!:

Apparently she loves giant plastic animals!

What a cheeser!

Brielle probably had as much fun pushing the stroller as she did checking out the animals:

Grandpa & Taylee:
Thanks mom and dad, we had a fabulous trip!

Other Pics:

Taylee is growing like crazy.  She is seriously the sweetest little girl ever!  She is so happy and smiles all the time.  I'm just in love with her!  I find such joy in simply listening to her coo and try to voice her little opinion!

Cousin Jackson's birthday party:

I can't believe my nephew is already four!  He's quite the energetic little boy and pretty funny too.  Tyson & Abbey hosted a little party @ the park.  Here are just a few pics.

(Grandpa Jack & Breezy)

The kids had fun riding bikes, playing on the playground, being thrown in the air, and playing ring around the rosies.

The Birthday Boy:

Breezy getting soaked in the fountain was probably her favorite part of the day!

I believe my little Taylee thinks I take too many pictures!
