Lake Picnics, Pioneer Day & Summer Lovin'

Fish Lake

Last night we went up to Fish Lake for a picnic and a little fishing with the Shelton's. Good food, beautiful scenery, great friends, and cute kids.  Everything you need for a fun night!

Brielle loved watching her Daddy while he fished:

But throwing rocks in the water held her interest a little bit more:)

Brielle and Noah:

The kids were in Heaven playing at the Lake.  I think we all had a great time!

Brielle pointed out every deer she saw on our way home and knew exactly what they were.  Even if they did have evil eyes!

Summer Time Swimmin'

This summer we have done A LOT of swimming in our kiddie pool.  There's something so relaxing about watching kids play outside under the summer sun.  Brielle loves our swimming days and will always bring me her swimming suit and sunscreen saying, "Please, suit, please".  I think it's so cute she knows we have to put sunscreen on every time!
Brielle, Leah, and Noah on our deck eating ice:

Taylee isn't nearly as interested in being outdoors!

Travis put an ice cube down Brielle's swimming suit.  What a mean guy!

But Brielle thought it was hilarious!  It didn't bother her one bit.

Brielle loves her lounge chairs and I'm pretty sure her favorite color is blue.  She points out anything and everything that is blue.  When we bought the chair, we put a red one and a blue one next to each other down the aisle from Breezy to let her pick her favorite and she immediately went to the blue one over and over.

What a sweetheart she is!  I always have to take pictures of Brielle when she's sitting down because it's just so rare.  She is always on the go.  It lasted all of two seconds, but I still love that we caught her in this pose.  She kind of looks like a little old lady sitting in her chair!:

Daddy and Breezy:

Pioneer Day

The 24th of July was a great day!  We started the day off watching the Parade on TV.  Well. . . . . . .  Sort of!  Nothing holds Brielle's attention for very long!

Then we were lucky enough to have Grandma Margaret offer to watch the kids so Trav and I could go on a date.  It was so fun!  We did a little shopping, went out to lunch, then went to the movies.  Having two kids makes us REALLY appreciate good babysitters so we can have a little break.  What a great holiday!

Road Trip through Capitol Reef:

Trav and I took Taylee on a mini road trip through some incredibly beautiful scenery, but our favorite part I believe was the food!  We love to eat at Slacker's in Torrey.

I think Taylee quite enjoyed it too!

She was all smiles for the car ride:

Double the Trouble

I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Brielle is so in love with her sister!

Do you think they look alike?

We just always have to really watch her or poor Taylee would be kissed and smothered all the time:

All Girl

Brielle is such a little girl!  She LOVES kitchen play and is constantly jabbering on play phones.  I love to watch her at work:

Making REAL brownies:

She loves to taste test.  She may or may not have gotten that from her mother!  I like to eat the brownie batter more than I do the actual brownies to be honest.  I guess I'm not setting a very good example!

Satisfaction:

Mid-day naps on a hot summer day.

Journal Update:
Brielle is retaining more and more knowledge each and every day.  It's amazing what she can remember after being told only once.  She is absolutely obsessed with airplanes.  We live next to the Richfield airport and so anytime she hears an airplane or a helicopter she jumps up to make sure I heard it too.  She gets so excited!  Same thing with thunder storms.  We always cuddle up on our deck to watch for lightning and listen for thunder.  It's one of our all time favorite things to do.  It thrills us both when we get to see a fantastic lightning bolt! Brielle also loves stars, seeing animals, tractors, buses, and is so proud of herself whenever she sees the letter "B" in her books.   She still loves to read and sometimes color, and always loves to roughhouse with Travis.  She is at such a fun age!
Taylee Jane will be 4 weeks old on Thursday.  She already looks so much bigger to me.  She weighed 9 lbs at her 2 week checkup which we thought was great!  We still have some hard nights, but it's gotten much better.  Lately she's been waking up only once, which I love!  Having two kids is exhausting!  Taylee is so worth it though.  She is 100% sweet!  We love her so so much.

4th of July Celebrations & Catching Up

The 4th of July is one of my all time favorite days!  I love celebrating all of the reasons we have this holiday and as a bonus I love fireworks, parades, and dressing my girls in red, white and blue!

I am so pleased that Brielle loves her sister so much!  She is so cute when she holds Taylee and especially when she tries to comfort her by patting her on the tummy while saying "Oh" very sweetly!

While I stayed home with Taylee, Travis took Brielle to the Richfield Parade!  The parade here is HUGE, and I mean it's a really big deal, which is funny because there's not many floats or great candy, just lots and lots of tractors, horses, and cars, but it's still so much fun every year!! Unfortunately Brielle wasn't feeling too well, so pictures didn't turn out too great but I still think she's pretty darn cute anyway!  Here she is in her little lounge chair waiting for the Parade to start:

What an awesome Dad she has!

Grandma and Cousin Tripp.  Brielle loves holding hands with babies.

Getting some candy:

She had a much better time from Daddy's shoulders.

Here she is with Grandpa Kyhl:

Cousin Jackson sharing some candy:

That night we were all able to go to Gary and Margaret's for the traditional BBQ where the food was fabulous as always!  This is Brielle's Aunt Abbey being a good sport playing with the kids while I was too sore to do much of anything.

Our sweet little Taylee!  So Patriotic!

Brielle just can't get enough of Grandpa Jack.  I love it!  He's the best!

Other Random Pictures:

This is Breezy coming to visit us in the hospital.  She was probably a little bit more thrilled with the balloon than she was with her new baby sister!

I love her more than I can say!

Leaving the hospital.  Cute little thing!

So relaxed:

The next morning (hence the pajamas), we gave Brielle a new baby doll and stroller of her own so she could have a little someone to take care of too.

What a hit!

She loves her new baby and stroller so much! She even lifted the stroller onto the couch when she wanted to climb up and sit by me because she didn't want to come without them.  I'm glad we got the little bath baby because she's tickled to death that she doesn't have to leave her baby for bath time.  It's so funny!

Brielle told me she has two babies now. She's absolutely right because she's so good with her baby sister!  She always wants to hold her and even asks with a "please" and outstretched arms! She calls her Tay Tay.

Taylee did surprisingly well for her first bath. Sweet little thing:

Brielle loves to follow my lead.  When I'm feeding Taylee, she likes to feed her baby at the same time.

The girls all have tummy time together too.

So sweet!

More hugs:

I LOVE the chins!

This is when Brielle brought me a ladybug and we had a blast letting it crawl all over her arm.  She was completely fascinated!

I am more in love with my girls than I ever thought I could be!  And I must say Travis has been amazing through this entire thing.  He's turned into Superdad.  Always making sure I'm comfortable and that I have everything I need.  He's always ready to change diapers, help feed the girls, and even get up in the middle of the night when needed. What a man!
