Life has been one huge roller coaster lately. My blog posts today have made everything look peachy but if I'm being honest these last few weeks have been among the hardest I've had in quite a while. Building a house is HARD. Being a single mom is HARD. Trying to work part time, build a house from start to finish in 3.5 months in the evenings and on weekends, be a mom, and keep everything nice and tidy (or at least not let mold grow in our apartment) is downright draining. Emotionally and physically. Finding babysitters all by itself is enough to make me go nutty. (In one week alone I had 5 babysitters cancel on me). And poor Travis literally doesn't get to see his girls at all during the week. It's definitely rough 90% of the time, but these patches in the storm sure help with my sanity! I don't think Travis gets any of those patches. He is downright amazing!

One day when we were out helping at the house, our little neighbor kids (who happen to live in my old home) were selling rocks out front. My girls got the biggest kick out of purchasing their very own rocks!
And the best break of all was when I took the girls up north for a quick trip to hear my Dad's band play at the Gateway for KSL Days. Between dancing to some great music, getting their faces painted, and playing with cousins in the Gateway Splash pad, those girls were on cloud 9!

My old friend Jon did this one (Sorry it's upside down, couldn't get to the other side). It was all about adoption, and between the amazing quotes, art, and my emotional status lately I couldn't help but get teary eyed. Talk about feeling old!
Back to the grind:
I don't have a current pic of the house, but let's just say that my husband is the man because in the 5 weeks we've been working on it, we've gone from nothing but cement to having the entire house wired. We're having our 4 way inspection tomorrow. I couldn't be more impressed. When Travis puts his mind to something, he conquers it! So grateful for the sunshine and rainbows that are mixed in with this storm we call our crazy life.
