Air Show

Last weekend we went to the Hill Air Force Base air show along with the other 300,000 people, and it was incredible! Growing up I always had a dream of one day being in the Air Force. It's fascinated me ever since I first saw an F-16 flight demonstration on TV when I was little. Even just seeing all of the fighter planes on the ground gives me chills! The air show was mind blowing. I wish I had taken pictures of some of the maneuvers. I was in awe the whole time!

This is what Brielle thought of the show. Not quite as impressed as Mommy!

We also went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house and we were not disappointed. It was beautiful!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun weekend!

Now for an update on Brielle. She is almost 7 months old. As of a couple weeks ago she weighed 16 lbs and was 28 inches long. Tall and skinny. To be honest, I always wanted a chubby baby, but Brielle's just not really into food like her Mommy! I can't complain though because in my eyes, she couldn't get much cuter! I just adore her.

She is hilarious at meal times. She is more interested in blowing raspberries and playing with her bib than eating anything.

She can sit up on her own, but doesn't do it for very long. She gets distracted by toys or lint on the floor and dives face first into the carpet.

She has 4 teeth, and a huge smile that lights up her entire face. She crinkles her nose and tries to imitate the funny faces we pull.

And Brille LOVES to be outside! She even loves the rain. The other day I was taking her for a walk in her stroller and it suddenly started pouring. I started running back home to get out of the rain and looked down to see Brielle just giggling as the rain drops were hitting her skin. She loved it! (Don't worry, I took her in and dried her off right when we got home). This week has been a blast though because we love to go out on the deck to sit and watch the rain.

We couldn't be happier with our sweet little girl. She is a true joy!

Memorial Monday

We had a wonderful memorial Monday. It's taken me a while to update because I wanted to post the pictures that our friend Josh took with his camera since his pictures turned out so much better, but I haven't gotten around to getting them yet so I'll just have to post those later.

We went golfing in the morning.

Well, Travis golfed while Brielle and I drove the golf cart.

Living next to the golf course has its perks, but we definitely spend more money on golf passes because I guess it's just too enticing for Travis to pass up. If you look closely you can see our house that Travis built back behind him and to the left of where he's standing.

Brielle just makes everything more fun! Man we love her!

That afternoon while Brielle was playing with her Grandma and Grandpa, Travis and I went rappelling with our good friends Josh and Kristen. We had planned on a big canyoneering trip, but with the flash flood warnings, we decided against it. Instead, we hiked up Bullion Canyon and decided to rappel down the side of that waterfall.

I always get just a little nervous right before I go over that first ledge!

This is my friend Kristen at the top of the waterfall. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Travis, but Josh did with his camera so I'll have to post those later.

The spray from the waterfall was definitely loud and cold, but it was still so much fun.

Our Rainy Staycation

Our 4 year anniversary is on the 26th of May, so we've been celebrating with day trips to Capitol Reef, Fish Lake and Boulder. Nothing extravagant, but we've sure had fun!

It rained pretty much the entire time we were in Wayne County, but we loved it! The skies were gorgeous! We would wrap Brielle in a blanket and hike around every time the rain would settle into a sprinkle. She is fascinated with the outdoors so she smiled and squealed all day long.

No, we didn't drive around like this, we were just taking a break from the rain for a bit!

This was at the restaurant in Torrey. Brielle is so much fun to have around!

It's almost like she poses for the pictures!

Cute little thing. All tuckered out after playing at the park.

The next morning Travis and I took off to Fish Lake while Brielle played with her grandma and grandpa. Again, it rained the entire time. (Keep in mind this was Trav's idea!)

I seriously had on 8 layers of clothing and still soaked through.

It turned out to be incredible though. I've never seen Fish Lake so beautiful.

We were completely drenched, but we joked and laughed and caught fish so it was worth it!

After a morning of Fish Lake we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride up on Boulder. This was by far my favorite part of the day!
The rain didn't let off as you can see in this pic, but we were already drenched so why not? 4-wheeling in the rain is my favorite!

Travis thought it would be fun to floor it through the puddles, so not only were we wet, but we were completely covered in mud too. We had so much fun!

These pictures really don't do the beauty of this place justice, but you can still kind of get the idea.

Trav wanted to fish for a bit when we got to the lake. I won't name names but one of us was a better fisherman than the other ;) We were both amazed I was even able to cast with all the clothing I had on!

And as a shout out to my fam, I've got to throw in the Captain Stance!

Jonah and the Whale part 2

Yep. He did it again. He caught another big fish this morning. Once again he got up at 4AM. Once again I thought he was nuts. Thankfully, once again he let it go. 26 lb Mackinaw Lake Trout.

He took his friend Clayton out for his first time Mac fishing who also caught a big one. 28 lbs. Good times.

Jonah and the Whale

So Travis has been getting up at 4AM to go fishing the last couple of days. I just thought he was flat out crazy. . . . . . . until I saw this.

He caught a 25 lb Mackinaw Lake Trout at Fish Lake this morning. Pretty exciting, but I still think he's crazy for getting up at 4AM. When I first heard he'd caught a big one I must admit I was a little nervous. My pulse started racing and I think my hands even started to sweat. I REALLY don't want another fish hanging in my house. I hate those creepy little eyes staring at me. We have a "hunting/fishing room" for Trav so I won't have to look at the poor little mounted animals while I'm eating or trying to enjoy a movie or something like that. I just can't deal with a dead animal in a main room. The biggest problem for me however is the cost of mounting the fish. Sheesh. Luckily he let the poor sucker go.

Our tally since we've been married:

Trav's 30 pounder

I actually caught a 27 pounder. It was pretty funny because I really don't fish much. Travis made me keep and mount it. I think he was more excited than I was.
