Big Girl Room & Other Projects

We have been so busy working on all sorts of different projects around here. And by that I mean TRAVIS has been so busy working on all sorts of different projects around here! What a man he is! First and foremost. . . Brielle's big girl room! We're slowly getting ready for the baby to come and that requires a nursery, so we're moving Brielle into the room next door and keeping the nursery the same for the baby. I'm not ready to let Brielle graduate from the crib just yet, but we're sure getting her pumped to sleep in her toddler bed. She LOVES her big girl room!!

It's not quite done yet. I'd love to paint or put some stickers up too, but probably won't just in case we end up moving.

She plays in her room every chance she gets and especially loves doing tricks off of her bed. (Thanks for the bed Christa, it's perfect for her!)

Travis has been gone a TON lately. He's either at work or working on the house his parents are building. So when Brielle does get to see him, she's in Heaven!

This is her phony cry. So funny!

Helping Grandma and Grandpa Kyhl build their new house: Brielle sure is helpful.

She was pretending to go "Night-night" here:

Breezy is seriously obsessed with any and all vacuums!

Other projects: Travis was also able to finish our basement (pictures to come) and put our house up for sale. That's right, the same one we built and moved into less than 2 years ago. . . . when I was pregnant. . . . . of course! Our plan is to build and sale until we are able to pay off our house. We'll see how that goes. I'm burnt out already. We've been married 5 years this month and have moved 7 times already. Three of which when I was pregnant! At least I get to get out of painting!~

Other random pictures:

Brielle's vocabulary is getting larger by the day, but if she can't say something, she still knows how to get what she wants. She just grabs my finger and drags me until she can show me. She's very familiar with the refrigerator now!

She often wants bologna so she can smash it in her face for some reason. Really though. Who knows. This girl has a mind of her own!

She's finally mastered the somersault all by herself!
She's also learned how to climb up the tall stool to sit at the kitchen bar. Sometimes I'll find her on top of the kitchen table or the island when she's feeling extra naughty. She knows she's not supposed to, but sometimes I guess it's just too tempting!
Journal update:
Brielle is 17 months old. I swear she acts like she's going on 3 or 4 though. She's so energetic! What a handful for such a little girl. She doesn't sit down for anything. She's not interested in anything on the TV except occasionally a Baby Signing Time video, but that's only for a few min, and she has to be in the right mood.
She takes one nap a day, right after lunch. It's supposed to be for 3 hours, but that only happens on a really lucky day! I guess there's just too much to do. She's like a little tornado going from one mess to another.
She loves toast (except she pronounces it "toasht"), cheese, candy of any kind (esp junior mints), sandwiches, any and all fruit, chicken nuggets, juice, fruit smiles, and much much more.
She loves to dance and do tricks all the time.
She still wakes up at 8AM and goes to bed at 8PM, although sometimes she'll come to me around 7 - 7:30PM and say, "Mama, night night?" She's a very good sleeper and loves to go to bed.
She pretends everything is a cell phone, including keys, Daddy's stud finder, a drill, everything. She likes to color, but is mostly interested in taking off the marker lid so she can put it back on. She loves her baby and her ducky, and loves to take them outside! Outside is her favorite place to be.
Brielle knows all of her body parts including neck, shoulders, fingernails, bum bum, everything. She does NOT like getting her hair done or holding still for anything so I usually have to try to put her hair up while she's standing up or walking. Not easy.
We love her and all of her energy!!

More Pics? Don't Mind If I Do!

I'm bored.
I've been banished to the couch for the time being.
Let me just tell you from first hand experience, sciatica is not fun.
This sweet little girl inside of me is causing me tremendous pain by pinching my sciatic nerve.
The Doc said there's not really a whole lot they can do for it. I'll be in pain and have numb legs until I deliver.
He wants me to take steroids and go to physical therapy in hopes of easing my discomfort a little.
I'm procrastinating.
I have this fear that if I take steroids I'm going to grow a mustache and my baby will come out with nothing but facial hair and big muscles.
Physical therapy just sounds like it's going to hurt. Even more than it already does.
So instead, I've just been lying on the couch, taking pictures of Brielle.
Prepare yourself, there's a LOT of pics. . . . but it gives me something to do while Breezy naps, and I know my mother will enjoy them!

I'm so glad that these babies are worth every second of pain they cause us.

Grape Thief: Caught in the Act:

She was totally in a trance for SO long. I wonder what she was thinking.

Probably about baking in the kitchen and doing dishes. I can't imagine why though.

She's so sweet to read to her stuffed animals.

Daddy's been working hard to finish the basement. What a guy. Even Brielle appreciates his talents. Cute kisses!

Until she randomly decides she wants to bite his nose. Not sure where that came from.

Tyson and Abbey (Trav's brother and sis-in-law) blessed their cute Tripp yesterday so we made the trip with Grandpa and Grandma.

Nap time for Grandpa and Breezy:

Brielle's cute new cousin:

Trav wanted to see if Brielle would freak out on the tramp, but she absolutely LOVED it. She giggled the entire time. I would zoom in and crop this pic if I knew how. Trav is better at that type of thing. Actually, probably EVERYONE is better at that type of thing! I'm not too photo shop savvy.
I LOVE this picture:

Jumping with cousin Jackson:

She may not be scared of the trampoline, but she still seriously hates the grass!

Today.

This is what Brielle does when we say, "Show me your muscles". What a cutie!

Today

Today. . . This cute girl learned that if she pulls on Mommy's pants just right while she's standing up, they fall all the way down. She thought that was pretty funny!

Today. . . She learned how to use a tube of lipstick all by herself. I wish I had gotten a picture.

Today. . . She learned how to climb up on top of the kitchen table even though she knows she's not supposed to. I barely caught her before she tried to dive off in an attempt to fly, though certainly not her first.

Today. . . Brielle giggled and laughed while Mommy let out an exasperated sigh. I've definitely got my hands full. And yet, I couldn't be happier!

April Fools, Birthday, & Easter

I love this time of year because not only is it my birthday, but it's also April Fools and Easter. Really I just love any reason at all to celebrate, play jokes and eat good food!

In preparation for the Easter Holiday, Brielle and I have been practicing our hiding / finding skills so she'd be able to dominate at the Easter egg hunt! Little did I know Brielle took this to a completely new level. She started hiding everything she can, and I've really gotten a kick out of finding random toys and food in some pretty interesting places.

For my 25th birthday, we decided to celebrate the day up north. Travis isn't very fond of 801 and he kept saying that were driving into the dark abyss.

He was such a good sport to not only go with me but take me shopping ALL DAY LONG! Of course I can't forget to mention he spoiled me with the best food day EVER! We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch with my family, had Jamba Juice for a snack, Cafe Rio for dinner and a chocolate donut for dessert. It was really a fabulous birthday!! (And yes I judge how good a day is depending on what I get to eat that day!)

Brielle was a very good girl and got to play with Grandma all day while Trav and I went to movies and went shopping. Thanks again mom!

She had a blast opening eggs to find fun little prizes!

EASTER

To make the weekend even better, my parents came down to Richfield to watch conference with us and celebrate Easter. I loved it!!

With a little help, Brielle found her basket filled with play food, dishes, a bubble machine, sidewalk chalk and of course a new Easter dress. I think it's safe to say she really loved it all. . . besides maybe her dress which she could care less about.

It was hard to get a good picture of her outside because it was so incredibly windy but I promise she really did have fun searching for eggs. At least for a little while.

She wanted to blow bubbles all day long. I think it's so cute when she says the word "bubble". My mom is a patient woman!

That night we went to Trav's Grandparents house for Easter dinner. Of course I didn't get my camera out until we were getting ready to leave but Breezy had fun playing with her cousins and eating good food. Her favorite part though was having daddy chase her everywhere.

And let her ride on the 4-wheeler.

And throw her in the air. She loves her Daddy!
Brielle has turned into a very brave little girl when it comes to climbing and tumbling. She will stack boxes, toys, anything she can find just to climb to the top. Once she's reached her goal, she throws her hands in the air and says, "Ta-Da"!

She treats herself with a Binky when she's proud which is funny because she's never taken one before. She sticks it in her mouth for a few seconds and then throws it.

She then almost always jumps off and dives into a pile of pillows on the floor. She's not scared of any negative consequences. She just laughs and laughs!
